The striking cover art for PRISM international 51.1 Fall 2012 is titled “Landscape IV” and comes to us courtesy of artist Levi van Veluw. It’s part of a four-piece series in which van Veluw reinterprets the traditional landscape painting by removing elements from the 2-dimensional format and transposing them to the 3-dimensional contours of the artist’s own face.
Born in 1985 in Hoevelaken, the Netherlands, van Veluw graduated from the Artez Institute of the Arts in Arnhem, the Netherlands, in 2007. Since then, his work has been exhibited in galleries and published in magazines worldwide. His awards include the Photographer of the Year award at the 2007 IPA International Photo Awards in the U.S.
