Home > Contests > Short Fiction and Poetry Contest Deadlines EXTENDED!

We’re pleased to announce that the deadlines for the 2016 Short Fiction and Poetry Contests have been extended to January 25th! That’s ten extra days to send in your best short stories and/or up to three of your best poems. You can also submit additional stories and poems! Imagine what you can do in ten days! A page a day and you’d have a good length for a story. A paragraph a day: a micro fiction piece. A line a day and you could have a whole new poem!

The prizes this year total a whopping $5000 collectively! That’s $1500 for first place, $600 for first runner-up, and $400 for second runner-up in either category. You have better odds of winning one of our contests than you do the Lotto or the Powerball and what could be better than having one of our amazing judges pick your piece?
