After much careful deliberation by our contest judge, Lee Maracle, we now have the winners of this year’s Short Fiction Contest. The competition was incredibly close and we received many high-quality entries—this made the adjudication process that much more difficult and we apologize for the delay!
The winners of PRISM’s 2016 Short Fiction Contest are…
First Place: You Can Do Better by Taryn Pearcey (Delta, BC)
First Runner-Up: Montreal River by Lesley Krueger (Toronto, ON)
Second Runner-Up: Bereavement Tax Credit by Richard Kelly Kemick (Calgary, AB)
Thank you so much to the wonderful writers on our longlist and shortlist and to everyone who entered the contest this year. Stay tuned for some exciting contest announcements from PRISM International in the coming year!
