Home > Prompts > Summer Writing Prompt: Week 1

Suggestions:
– The lyrics from that early 2000s quasi-alternative-rock song your brother blasted from behind his bedroom door when you were both growing up.
– The excerpt from that rap song that you usually just mumble.
– That song you only know of because everyone else sings it. (You’ve never actually heard it.)
– The first song that you only sometimes listen to in order to feel dedicated to the artist and their work but often just skip in order to get to the good songs.

I’m talking about that song you sort of know the lyrics to, but not really. (You’ve seen the Christina Aguilera memes – IN NEW YORK / CONCRETEJUNGLEWETDREAMTOMATO.)

Write it out and write it fast.

Pro Tip: Fold your paper in half. Let the edges of the paper create line breaks for you.
